Nowadays, on Frades Island, great part of the investments are concentrated. These investments are on environmental – urban re-qualification that has been held by Baía Viva Foundation. Putting into practice its directives and objectives, the Foundation has been contributing with a series of actions,     giving a new urban vision to visitors and more comfort to the population.

On this island. , places known as Loreto, Paramana, Costa de Fora and Ponta de Nossa Senhora, haven been passing through transformations that can stimulate other initiatives for the strengthening of the touristic vocation of the place. The total recovery of the church in Loreto, dated from the XVII Century, has huge symbolic in the building of the so wanted bridge that unites the culture to tourism. In the same direction – with the use and remodeling of an old mansion that in the past was a farm house – it was installed the Memory Center from Frades Island that , nowadays is a mandatory visit for anyone who is interested in knowing better the origin, fauna, flora geographic scope, costumes and popular manifestations on the island.

In Loreto, the precarious conditions for mooring discouraged an in loco visit. The use of the new pier for the embark and debark, allows the access of all type of vessel. The construction material around the church was carefully chosen to softly be integrated with a small square there. Also in Loreto, the Foundation has been growing a vivarium with species from the Atlantic Forest, aiming the reforesting of the island. Since 2001 there has already been planted around 150 thousand seedlings of Atlantic forest, beyond 100 thousand seedlings of palm trees. Replanting is incessant and it contemplates seedlings of jequitibá, pau-brasil, cedro, anjico, aroeira, ipê roxo, among other species, and fruit trees that are very adapted to the soil as cashew, mango, ingá, pitanga, cajá, guava and others. The place also has a center for selection, recycling and compacting of waste.

In Paramana, Costa de Fora and Ponta de Nossa Senhora, Baía Viva Foundation has been doing a work of requalification environmental and urban and the big project of sanitation, drainage and paving of many streets and squares. There also happened the remodeling of precarious huts made of wattle and daub into houses made of bricks e with water, sewage and energy. In Costa de, Fora, also through a remodeling, there were built a medical center, a new restaurant for residents and visitors and a recreational center. In 2017, because of an agreement with the Prefecture of Salvador, a crèche, a multi-sporting court and a playground will be inaugurated.

The small church of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, which had been built by Portuguese people in Ponta de Nossa Senhora, and that was abandoned and ruined, was completely remodeled. It is located on the top of a hill where it was built a gazebo from where it can be seen one of the most beautiful views of All Saints Bay. All the huge stairs that give access to the church was also remodeled. This village hosts one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bay, and Baía Viva Foundation is holding actions for equipment on the beach, by substituting precarious huts for simple and harmonious ones, which Interact with the environment. Ponta de Nossa Senhora now has a new pier, public restrooms, a police station and a medical center, beyond a system of nautical signaling to avoid the approximation of vessels on the beach.

In Costa de Fora, the community asked and Baía Viva Foundation supported one of the works with the most signification for the village: the building of a long wall (around 1km) that works at the same time as a contention of tides and a passage for pedestrians, especially with children that go to school. It was a solution for an old difficulty faced by residents in the periods of rising tide, when they used to go to Paramana.

In Nova Ciranda Village, in Paramana, also a very important action removed all the waste from the hills. The situation was environmentally precarious and they had the chance to move to new houses with new drainage and pavement.

A soccer field was built with the entire needed infrastructure as bleachers and dressing rooms. In addition, a new agreement was made with the Military Police for the remodeling of the police station.

So, in Costa de Fora, through a Term of Technical Cooperation between   Baía Viva Foundation and the Prefecture of Salvador, a health center and a promenade are being built along the seacoast in Paramana.
